No shorter than 8 minutes and no longer than 12 minutes. Keep in mind when read aloud to an audience it’s important to incorporate pauses for impact, a slower cadence for ease of understanding, and our fear of revealing ourselves on stage. Sometimes we find it can be challenging to live in this boundary, but it’s the challenge we’re after!
Roughly 2 – 3 times a year we will premier a story ranging between 18-22 minutes. This is for single show headlining acts and is recommended only for practiced performers. Please consider yourself welcome to apply for this if you have a story that is already around 3000 words.*please be aware that submitting a long story does not guarantee you get this slot*
EXPOSED [presents] is seeking solo or two hander storytelling productions ranging from 75-100 minutes. These will be featured in Denver or touring cities as a part of the EXPOSED series. Shows must still align with the mission and values of EXPOSED [storytelling]
Writing a story involves time and potentially a lot of emotional energy (even if it’s very rewarding at the end), we’re expecting that story development takes about 3 months. During this time you’ll work with our team to develop your story into the EXPOSED style; which might be different from how you typically perform. Our process will require you to step into deep vulnerability with your peers, it’s through this work that your story will become a powerful performance!
Once you apply you will receive a phone call and an email from our team to learn more and talk about what you can expect from us.
The next step will be to share with us a full draft of your story (full story, rough draft). Once we have your story we’ll ask you to Send A Video LINK to our email. That video will act as your audition for EXPOSED. You are welcome to submit that link in the form below, or after our team has helped you build out your story.
